The depot/museum is located in the village of Frederic, Wisconsin. The village is located on Wisconsin State Highway 35 about 80 miles northeast of Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota and 80 miles south of Superior, Wisconsin. As a crow flies it is about 30 miles east of the Wisconsin/Minnesota border in the Indianhead region of Wisconsin.
The Soo Line Depot building was erected in 1901 and served the village and surrounding area until 1982. The depot was renovated in the early 1990s and was converted into a museum. In 2003 the depot was listed in the National Registry of Historic Places.
The depot/museum is open to the public, at no charge, on weekends from Memorial Day until the last week end in September of each year. At other dates and times the museum may be visited by appointment. Please call 715-327-4271 to set up an appointment.

The depot/museum is open on weekends, Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. The season begins Memorial Day Weekend and continues through the final weekend in September. Tour guides are on duty at that time or if you would like to make arrangements for a private tour, call 715-327-4271 and Carol can make those arrangements for you.
