The Village of Frederic approved an ATV route on Village streets by adopting ordinance 7.11 ALL-TERRAIN VEHICLES at their August meeting. The route became effective August 26th when the signs were put into place by the Luck ATV club. Residents may use any Village street to go from home to the closest direct route designated as an ATV route. Motorists must follow the State laws as well as the Village ordinance while operating within the Village limits. Such laws include that ATV safety education certification is required for all riders who are at least 12 years old and born on or after Jan 1, 1988. ATV’s must be registered and display a license plate. Operators shall observe a 10 mile an hour speed limit. No one shall operate an ATV between the hours of 11 pm and 6 am. Municipal Code of Ordinance Chapter 7 Traffic Code:
7.11 All-Terrain Vehicles. (1) STATE LAWS ADOPTED. Except as otherwise specifically provided in this chapter, the statutory provisions describing and defining regulations with respect to all-terrain vehicles in the following enumerated sections of the Wisconsin Statutes are hereby adopted by reference and made a part of this section as if fully set forth herein.

(2) OPERATION IN VILLAGE.
(a) As per section (b) and (3)(a)(b) of this code.
(b) Operation on Private Property. A property owner or a person with the written consent of the
property owner may operate an all-terrain vehicle on such property. However, no all-terrain
vehicle may be operated within 200 feet of any residence or between the hours of 11:00 p.m.
and 6:00 a.m.
(3) DESIGNATION OF ALL-TERRAIN VEHICLE ROUTES
(a) The following routes are designated ATV/UTV routes in the Village of Frederic:
Spruce Street East between Benson Road and lake Ave. North.
Lake Ave. North between Spruce Street East and Cedar Street East.
Cedar Street East between lake Ave North and Traffic Ave. North (crosses Hwy. 35).
Traffic Ave North between Cedar Street West and Oak Street West (Hwy 48).
Hope Road West between Traffic Ave. North and Hwy. 35 (access to Frederic Stop).
Traffic Ave. South between Oak Street West and Ash Street West to Hwy 35 (plus the
frontage road for access to Holiday/Subway).
Ash Street West (West Sweden 310th) to Peake Ave. South.
Peak Ave. South between Ash Street West and Linden Street West.
Linden Street West between Peake Ave South and Traffic Ave. South.
145th Street (Lake Ave South) from 305th Ave. to Ash Street East.
Lake Ave. South between Ash Street East and Coon Lake Park West parking lot entrance.
Ash Street East between Lake Ave. South and Hwy 35 (crosses Hwy. 35).
This ordinance does not prohibit ATV use within the Village of Frederic using Village streets to go
from one location (home, business, etc.) to the closest direct route designated as ATV/UTV routes
within the Village.
(b) ALL ATV/UTV operators shall observe a 10 mile per hour speed limit within the Village limits.
